Common questions

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Gratitude Lock, and tap Cancel. You can also cancel from the Manage subscription link in the app's Settings tab. To request a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com.

I subscribed on another phone. How do I restore it?

Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple account, then tap Restore purchases on the paywall or in the app's Settings tab.

Why does the block screen say to open Gratitude Lock instead of opening it for me?

Apple does not allow a block screen to launch another app directly. The Write my entry button sends you a notification instead; tapping it drops you into your journal with the keyboard up.

My apps did not re-lock when the window ended.

Re-locking is scheduled with Apple's Screen Time system and normally happens on its own, even if your phone is off. Opening Gratitude Lock always sets things right immediately. If you see this happen repeatedly, email us with your iOS version; we want to know.

How do I get my journal out?

Settings tab, Export journal. You get a plain text file of every entry that you can save to Files, AirDrop, or mail to yourself. Do this before deleting the app: entries live only on your phone, and we cannot recover them.

How do I delete my data?

Your journal is deleted when you delete the app, because it exists nowhere else. For the purchase and attribution records our providers hold, see the privacy policy; one email and we handle the rest.
